About Bag Filling
BW Packaging can fill bags made of a variety of materials, including paper, plastic, and composites, and in a variety of forms, such as with and without gussets, zippers, and sealed, stitched, or pinch top closures. Our equipment also fills bags in a range of sizes, from retail-size coffee bags with de-gassing valves to seed bags to commercial sacks of animal feed. They can be semi-automatic or fully automatic and be used for dust-free operations.
Mateer bag fillers can be part of a hand fill operation, or a semi-automatic single-speed volumetric filler, or a two-speed "Fill-To-Weight" machine. Single-speed volumetric fillers fill to a preset volume, weigh, and then calculate how much product needs to be added to achieve the goal. This provides a highly accurate +/- 0.50 to 0.75%. Fill-To-Weight machines fill to a preset volume, then automatically shut off, providing pinpoint accuracy of +/- 0.25 to 0.50%. This is particularly useful when filling high-value products such as expensive spices, pharmaceuticals, powdered milk, and agricultural chemicals, or in any case where it is critical to avoid either short fills or overfilling.
Thiele bag fillers are fully automatic and highly accurate. They are based on modular designs for fast, easy maintenance, greater efficiency, and superior reliability. They fill a variety of sizes and types of bags without spillage and with fast, easy changeovers. Their innovative design features fewer moving parts than competitive baggers, reducing maintenance and inventory.
BW Packaging fillers are available in a range of speeds to meet your operational goals. While a hand fill or semi-automatic operation, such as with a Mateer, only moves as fast as the operator (about 10 - 15 bags per minute), fully automatic Thiele models can reach 38 bags per minute, depending on bag size.
